Prototyping iPhone Apps Quickly
There are a number of software features in Apple Keynote software to quickly build a functional prototype iPhone app. Amir Khella says it can be done with Apple Keynote and Keynotopia in only 19 minutes and shows an example of this process in the Vimeo video below.
- Start by using the 'iPhone' presentation theme that's a standard template supplied with Apple Keynote software. It becomes the initial launch screen of the mockup with which you're making the iPhone app prototype.
- Next, using the Keynotopia templates that are iPhone specific, locate the user interface components that you want to copy-and-paste in the iPhone-themed user interface (UI) screen.
- Third, create top-and-bottom toolbars on the prototype screens by copying-and-pasting UI components using Keynotopia templates.
- Next, copy-and-paste other Keynotopia components that will be on the prototype UI screen.
- Fifth, create secondary screens that will be part of the interaction-and-navigation of the final user interface prototype.
- After all UI screens are created, hyperlinks are added between screens, buttons and other click choices to create the prototype's interactivity.
